About

I make my living in logistics, which is a polite way of saying I spend a lot of time solving problems, untangling chaos, and trying to make sure the right things get where they need to go for the people who need them. These days I work as a team lead in the defense world, supporting combat air force customers, overseeing multiple platforms, and helping lead a team responsible for a whole lot of moving parts. It’s serious work, but I’ve always believed common sense and a sense of humor go a long way toward getting through serious work well.

I didn’t exactly take a straight line to get here. I started out in social work at Virginia Commonwealth University, working with individuals with disabilities, then moved into Army training and leadership development for wounded warriors. Later, I supervised teams supporting defense service contracts, including teams made up of blind and wounded warrior personnel. On paper, those jobs may not look all that connected, but to me they’ve always been about the same things: helping people, solving problems, and figuring out how to lead without becoming unbearable in the process.

This site is where the rest of my brain goes. It’s a place for short essays, jokes, observations, and whatever opinions happen to be rattling around loudly enough that I feel obligated to type them out. Outside of work, I sing, write music, and do comedy, which probably tells you most of what you need to know about me.
